From ARROJO to Fashion Week to Ted Gibson, success seems to follow ARROJO Cosmetology alumni, Armend Albani, wherever he goes. We caught up with the class 38 graduate to find out about his experience at ARROJO and what he’s been up to since graduation.
How did you become interested in the beauty industry?
My mother owns a salon. Seeing how fulfilling and lucrative being a cosmetologist was for her was all I needed to get me into it.
Why did you choose ARROJO Cosmetology School?
After researching a bunch of cosmetology schools in NYC it was clear that ARROJO was a cut above the rest. On my first day, I realized that I had made the right choice.
Is there anything that stands out in your mind about your experience?
The teachers were amazing and the fact that we learned much more than just generic state board practice was what made the experience that much more rewarding.
What is your favorite new skill?
Cutting hair is my passion and definitely what I love to do.
Any advice you can share with current or prospective students?
Enjoy your time at ARROJO, it will shape the rest of your career, and give you the best possible foundation for being in a salon. Plus I would say graduation was something I will never forget, it prepared me for hair shows and fashion weeks, and other 'in the moment' experiences.
What did you do after graduation, and where are you working now?
After graduation I worked at Ted Gibson on 5th ave in NYC where completed their 1.5 year apprentice program in 7 months and become a stylist. I had multiple opportunities to work in hair shows and in fashion weeks, which I truly enjoyed. Now I work at a salon in central jersey closer to my hometown.
