Tina le Noble
31, ARROJO salon hairstylist living in Park Slope
Tell me about your job.
I’m a hairstylist and educator, so I do a lot of in-salon work and travel all over the country teaching other stylists. Before, I worked in fashion as a technical designer. Hairstyling is still something creative but a new chapter. And I still get to do fashion styling at all of [Arrojo’s] shoots.
How would you describe your personal style?
A mix between punk rock and pinup.
Have you ever botched a cut?
Oh, my god, absolutely. I grew up in the punk scene so I was always cutting and coloring my friends’ hair and forever cleaning my poor parents’ bathroom tiles. I’ve been known to decide trimming my own bangs after a few glasses of wine is a good idea.
Who’s the biggest celebrity you’ve worked on?
The performance artist Marina Abramović. She was so chill—you would not know she was who she was. She was actually reading a gossip magazine, so we were talking about whatwasgoingon.Iwaslike,“Oh,you’renot pretentious at all. You’re just like me and will read a trashy magazine to pass time.”
