How did you become interested in the beauty industry?
I started working in my father’s salon at the age of fifteen and knew that’s where I belonged. I was exposed at such a young age to the beauty industry in and out of the salon.
Why did you choose ARROJO Cosmetology School?
When I made the decision of going straight to Cosmetology School right after High School, I knew I wanted to go to the best of the best. I was invited to the Grand Opening of ARROJO Cosmetology School in SoHo and just felt a great energy. I knew at that moment that no other school would ever compare to what I was about to learn at ARROJO.
Is there anything that stands out in your mind about your experience here?
Having the experience of having master stylists like Nick Arrojo and Gerard Scarpaci come to our classes and teach new haircuts or color techniques.
What is your favorite new skill?
I learned a lot from ARROJO, which allowed me to keep my mind and knowledge wide open throughout the industry. I just became an educator so I would have to say my new favorite skill is sharing the passion and knowledge to my peers.
Any advice you can share with current or prospective students?
There is no fast track if you want to succeed. Always invest in yourself with education. You never know everything, no matter how many years you’ve been in the industry.
What did you do after graduation, and where are you working now?
After graduating cosmetology school, I worked for Beth Minardi and then moved on to working for my dad’s salon in Tappan, NY. I was recently featured in Modern Salon Magazine and have worked New York Bridal Fashion Week. I am currently an Educator for Unite Hair.
