Many ARROJO Cosmetology graduates have gone on to become successful stylists in ARROJO Studio. With the opening of the new Brooklyn salon we are excited to announce that 5 graduates that are currently stylists in the Manhattan salon will be transitioning over to Brooklyn to be a part of the starting team! We are so excited for them.
Clare - cutting/styling
After moving from Portland to New York to study dance and history, Claire realized she wanted a career that combined her artistic tendencies with her love of social interaction. She attended ARROJO cosmetology school and never looked back. A natural stylist, she was a first-class student who, immediately after graduation, applied for a job at ARROJO studio, citing her love for the versatility of razor-cutting, and the ongoing education. A fashion-forward and creative cutter, Claire completed our salon-floor training program at double speed, and already boasts credits for Alisha Trimble’s New York Fashion Week show, as well as having her work published on vogue.com. “I love working with my clients’ natural texture to create a style that works for their lifestyle, and makes them feel great,” she says.
Charlie - colorist
A competitive dancer since 5 years of age, Charlie's background gives her the performance skills, confidence, and creativity to be a world-class hairdresser. Her mom was a stylist for 30 years, and her influence helped Charlie choose a career in cosmetology over going to college. She came to our own boutique beauty school, and found her perfect fit. Impressing us with her passion and painter’s eye, after graduation she jumped at the chance to join our salon-apprentice program, which she passed with aplomb. Now a full-time colorist, she is renowned for fashionable, client-friendly hues, and for going the extra mile to exceed her client expectations. “Making people happy drives my eagerness to constantly build upon what I have already learned,” she says.
Francesca - colorist
A Brooklyn native, Francesca has a rare sense of style. Previously a wardrobe stylist and DJ, her vintage aesthetic and creative mien is inspired by the rock and roll bands of the 1960s and 1970s and contributes to how she fashions hair colors imbued with classic style, yet always with a twist of freshness and modernity. A graduate of ARROJO cosmetology, Francesca has brilliant technique, and thrives as a colorist who creates vivid and graphic tones for her clientele. Her credits include NYFW and Expo and Underground, two prestigious shows on our own calendar. “I work in the perfect place to stay current and inspired, but my greatest reward is getting to know my clients, sharing their vision, and making them feel their most beautiful,” she says.
Robyn - cutting/styling
Originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Robyn’s dream was to pursue the craft of hairdressing, so she moved to NYC to attend ARROJO cosmetology, where she won several awards for the quality of her work. Impressed by the level of talent and professionalism throughout the company, Robyn transitioned from school to salon and, with creativity and commitment, aced our 18-month apprentice-training program in just 13 months. Her work has featured at ARROJO, IBS NYC, and in editorial fashion shoots. Her approach to each hair cut mirrors the philosophy of the company: “I love how personal creating a hairstyle for someone can be; hair should reflect the person’s personality, and it's exciting to help create their style,” she says.
Lucy - colorist
Born in Michigan, raised in Florida, Lucy’s combination of drive and sunshine makes her one of our best young colorists. A graduate of our famed cosmetology school, she cites the energy, discipline, culture, and training as the reasons she chose to join our salon team. Certified in American Wave and renowned for beautiful styling, Lucy is a six season veteran of New York Fashion Week, and took part in ARROJO Expo 2014, our own hair show. Showing her talent, skill, and ambition she completed our 24-month apprenticeship in half that time, gaining recognition for both classic and creative techniques. “I love hairdressing because it offers the opportunity to create custom color and texture for clients, making each person feel special and unique,” she says.
