How did you become interested in the beauty industry?
I enjoy talking and getting to know people. When I'm doing hair behind the chair, I get to do some of my favorite things: interact with different people, help clients find their own unique beauty, and tap into my own creative drive.
Why did you choose ARROJO Cosmetology School?
Always wanting to live in NYC, I figured that cosmetology school was the perfect opportunity for my NYC adventure. I toured a few schools and ARROJO the ideal choice due to the professionalism and high end atmosphere.
Is there anything that stands out in your mind about your experience here?
My two teachers, Kelly Hawkins and Gina Arrojo consistantly stand out as they were both so inspiring and encouraging. They were always patient, but still pushed us to work hard and build our skills and knowledge.
What is your favorite new skill?
I am currently enjoying balyage. I love a very soft natural look, and this technique helps me bring that to my clients.
Any advice you can share with current or prospective students?
Stay inspired! Cosmetology school is the first step to a long journey and that can be rather daunting. Keep learning and be open to new possibilities. This industry can lead to many career paths.
What did you do after graduation, and where are you working now?
After graduation, I moved back to my home in Pennsylvania, where I continued beauty school to get enough hours for a PA license. I am currently working at a salon and in the spring I will be attending college to study Communication Studies.
