This year was the best yet at ARROJO Cosmetology. We welcomed nearly one hundred new students into our school, added three outstanding educators to our dynamic team, and received federal funding to assist future professionals with financing their education.
Further, each class continued to up the excellence ante, with wow factor graduation presentations that were a constant source of inspiration.
Class 22 gave us a copy of their “Infinite Playlist,” a compilation of the songs and styles that influenced and motivated them throughout their seven-month program. From country to classic rock, from rap to jazz to pop, the track list was as diverse as the class, and was used as a catalyst for students to show their skills in haircutting, coloring, and styling. Even the makeup and fashion styling complemented their chosen musical themes.
Class 23’s dazzling “Metals” presentation, with sharp haircuts and rich color, offered hairstyles symbolic of precious metals. One of the most complete and cohesive presentations we’ve seen, the class worked together to transform the classrooms into a shimmering space designed to show off their new hairdressing talents.
Class 24’s graduation presentation, “The Future,” focused our attention on what happens next. This special group of students brought an abundance of energy and excitement into our school and their final presentation was indicative of their ebullient spirit. In addition to showing off their newfound cosmetology skills, Class 24’s last hurrah included a striking twist on the traditional mood board, converting them from print to video (a trend that reemerged a few weeks later at ARROJO Underground!). The video mood boards inspire us to keep searching for fresh ways to upgrade our creativity.
The grand finale of our year was a send-off for a class of superstar, part-time students. Part Time Class 5 continued the video mood board theme at their “Super Heroes” themed graduation. Each student in Part Time Class 5 juggled work and school for 12 months to pursue their cosmetology education. Their models wore creative haircuts and vibrant color, representing the time and effort spent to make their dream career a career reality. We wish all of our graduates in 2013 the best of luck in this, the best job in the world.
