GINA ARROJO- SCHOOL DIRECTOR
After moving from Michigan to Manhattan, Gina followed family footsteps into the cosmetology industry. A successful ARROJO studio colorist before her desire to teach and inspire took over, Gina became a cosmetology educator at Aveda Institute, drawing an avalanche of honors, including winning the Best Educator Competition, representing the school on the ‘Aveda Congress’ stage, and becoming the Head Coach of their teaching team. She has been an ARROJO Cosmetology Instructor since 2009, and became a School Director in 2011. Now a 10-year veteran teacher of cosmetology education, she is a two-time Educator of the Year nominee at the prestigious Nicolas F. Cimaglia national awards from Milady’s. She facilitates curriculum development, leads our in-house instructor education, and oversees the education of each student, ensuring their development into expert cosmetologists.
KRISTA LUNDBERG- ADMISSIONS DIRECTOR
Krista is an ARROJO Cosmetology Graduate who found the energy and spirit, creativity and camaraderie of our school to be too hard to find anywhere else, and thus joined our faculty staff as the Admissions Director. A bachelor of psychology and education, she harbored a passion for fashion and beauty, and finally fulfilled her dream to a become professional hair stylist in 2011. At renowned salons, OC61 NYC and Wink Asheville, North Carolina, she expanded her skills, becoming a specialist in hair painting, curly-haired clients, make-up applications, and bridal beauty services. Originally from Connecticut, Krista jumped at the opportunity to join our team; she is a charming student mentor and guide who takes pride in facilitating an enjoyable and rewarding school experience for undergraduates.
MEGAN RICHARDSON- EDUCATOR
Originally from Arizona, Megan moved to New York to continue her blossoming career. Since then, she has worked alongside many of the industries luminaries. She trained at the esteemed Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa, becoming the personal assistant of Paul and his Creative Director. Later, she moved to the Gerard Bollei Salon. Here she continued her upward curve, building a large and loyal client base while simultaneously developing in-salon training programs for an extensive team of stylists. An impressive love of learning new things developed into a burning passion to share knowledge and inspire, which led her to join the faculty at ARROJO Cosmetology. With exceptional communication skills, Megan is an engaging, powerful educator, with an expert understanding of the artistic nature of the craft.
JOSEPH GUINTO- EDUCATOR
Joseph brings to ARROJO a rich and varied history as a cosmetology educator. A stylist for eight years, seven of those come with teaching experience at some of the biggest names in the industry. An educator for Bare Minerals and Nioxin, before spending six years as Director of Education at Redken’s Salon Professional Academy, Florida, Joseph became a Redken Certified Colorist and Master Specialist, while also gaining experience of writing cosmetology learning curriculums. He then moved on to become cutting the specialist at the Paul Mitchell school. His credits include NY Fashion Week and hair styling for TV. As an educator, Joseph combines technical precision and an artistic eye with patience, knowledge and understanding, helping each student to realize their potential.
CARRIE CHAPMAN- EDUCATOR
Carrie’s experience as an Art Teacher makes her a charming and colorful educator. A bachelor of Art Education with a Masters in Painting, she has a creative eye and visionary touch, always encouraging students to look at things from a fresh slant. Carrie has put 20 years into the beauty industry, developing specialties in dry cutting techniques and hair color theory. A passionate teacher, her carefully tailored lesson plans perceptively meet the individual needs of each student. She loves to use art projects to add interest to theory-based lessons, and this has become a feature of her work, one that students always enjoy. Proud to be a part of our boutique school, Carrie’s great joy is seeing future stylists getting set to take the beauty world by storm.
ANGELICA LAUDIERO- EDUCATOR
As a native New Yorker, Angelica attended the Aveda Institute in NYC in 2006; since, she has built a reputation as a top New York City stylist, with stints in esteemed salons in Manhattan and Brooklyn. She is adept at cutting, coloring, and texture services, yet retains a special love for creating blondes, and prides herself on soft but bright tones that maintain the health and integrity of the hair. With clients and students, Angelica always goes the extra mile, believing wholeheartedly in the importance of education, correct product usage, and laying the foundation for each person who comes into the salon to enjoy styles that are lasting and beautiful. An innate sense of New York City style keeps Angelica on top of fashion and beauty trends, meaning she always has exciting ideas to share with students.
MAURICIO MARTINEZ- EDUCATOR
Raised in San Francisco, Mauricio has the classic Californian demeanor: mellow. His skills, however, are rich and full. A career spanning fifteen years began at the esteemed 77 Maiden Lane, San Francisco. Further cut and color training at Toni & Guy and additional color education with Wella make Maurico a veritable master, expertly schooled in all elements of the craft. His credits include a write up for the “Best California Blonde” in San Francisco’s famous 7x7 Magazine and New York Fashion Week Show Styling, including the highly regarded Electric Feathers runway show. As an educator, Mauricio uses his relaxed attitude and extensive experience to bring a reassuring presence and an insightful mind and eye. Celebrated for his illustrious blow-out skills, students form an orderly queue to see what he can do with a blow-dryer and a brush.
DENISE VIVAS (PIA)- EDUCATOR
Pia’s cosmetology career began by winning the Aveda Natural Talent competition, which gave her a full scholarship to Aveda Institute, NYC. After graduation, she excelled at two world-class salons, Vidal Sassoon and Cristiano Cora. Technically precise, with renowned artistic flair, Pia boasts an exceptional record as an educator. She assisted Cristiano Cora at Davines’ monthly cut and color education classes, and was production assistant for Cora’s “No More Excuses” collection, Toronto, Canada. Approachable and friendly, she is a key member of our teaching team, and can boast the rare talent for inspiring students and making their talents shine.
ALOYSIA COLQUHOUN- STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR
A business mind with an eye and a talent for fashion and beauty, Aloysia enrolled in ARROJO Cosmetology after receiving a bachelor of business. A Graduate of Class 4, she apprenticed at one of New York’s most well known salons, Scott J. Aveda, and within two years had been promoted to assistant salon manager. A tempting offer took her back into banking, but the beauty bug just wouldn’t give, and she soon returned to the salon, becoming a part of Drybar’s upper management structure. When she saw the opportunity to join our faculty team, it was a dream come true. Now our Student Services Coordinator, Aloysia is an active and enthusiastic member of our team, maintaining efficient school operations on all levels.
